Supporting healthcare professionals to transform lives
The Obesity & Weight Management Alliance brings together healthcare professionals, researchers and industry partners with one shared goal – to improve outcomes for people living with obesity.
Through a programme of conferences, webinars and regular news updates, we provide practical education, insights and access to innovative solutions that are making a real difference in weight management care.
The alliance is chaired by Professor Melanie Davies CBE, a leading expert in diabetes and obesity and aims to connect professionals with the latest evidence-based approaches, tools and treatments.

Tackling the UK’s obesity challenge
-
Global obesity rates have tripled since 1975 and the UK now ranks among the worst-performing countries in Europe.
-
Today, around a quarter of UK adults are living with obesity and studies suggest this could rise to 36 per cent of the adult population by 2040.
-
Obesity already costs the NHS £6.5 billion annually and this is predicted to rise to more than £9.7 billion each year by 2050.
